Who wouldn't Melt! for this line-up?

Festival sites are not what they used to be. Gone are the days of muddy fields, smelly tents and burger vans.

Festivals have changed and what a glorious transformation it has been. Remote and fabulously niche festival sites are popping up all over Europe, from the lakes of Hungary, to the beaches of Croatia and the Mountains of Spain. However, Melt! Festival in the German town of Ferropolis has something really special to offer.

Set in a former coal mine Melt! Festival is a living museum paying homage to the site’s old industrial past. With enormous bucket excavators and towering caterpillars littering the site, Melt! has to be one of the most surreal festival sites going. On the shore of an artificial lake, Melt! has a stunning location and the industrial background only adds to the drama of the landscape. Throw in thousands of hyperactive festivalgoers, the best indie, house and techno music around and you’ve got one hell of a party.

Interested? Well it’s about to get a whole lot better, Melt! have announced their first acts for 2014 and its pretty damn exciting. House and techno royalty Boys Noize and Dusky will be preforming alongside electronic duo Fuck Buttons,  Australian born Chet Faker and the legendary Portishead, Californian sisters Haim and Metronomy will also be adding their own musical styling’s to the mix.

If this tickles your musical taste buds then shimmy on over to Germany this summer for Melt! Festival. Recently voted best medium sized festival at the European festival awards, 2014 is set to be a huge year for Melt! and we can’t wait to see what they’ll come up with next.
