International names to hit Pohoda

Róisín Murphy, DJ Shadow, Jana Kirschner, David Koller and Bjarki have all been confirmed to play at Slovakia’s Pohoda Festival 2016.

The Irish singer Róisín Murphy – who came to fame in the 1990s as one half of the electronic music duo Moloko - and DJ Shadow, a pioneer of turntablism and trip-hop, are some of the huge international artists who have been announced recently for the Pohoda Festival in Trencin, Slovakia this July. They join an already stunning line-up, featuring acts such as The Prodigy, PJ Harvey, Sigur Ros and the Vaccines.

The line-up also features Icelandic techno DJ Bjarki, identified last year as one of 10 artists tipped for big things by Rolling Stone magazine. Slovakia’s Jana Kirschner and Czech artist David Koller complete the recent update.

New for 2016, the iconic Karosa Red Bull Tour Bus will be replaced this year by the larger and noisier Red Bull Music Academy stage presenting a series of world music workshops. The new stage will feature the likes of José Rebelle, a London BBC Radio 1´s DJ who was the first guest of the Boiler Room series; the producer Koreless of the famous label Young Turks; and Sevdaliza, an R&B star originating from Iran.
