Stop Drop Robot to play Croatia's INmusic Festival!

Last Friday 5 of the UK’s finest unsigned bands descended upon the Leamington Zephyr Lounge for the live final of All About The Music 2014.

The nationwide competition received hundreds of entries from bands across the country, but only 5 made it through to the final stage.

Under the watchful gaze of industry professionals, including Joe Foster, co-founder of Creation records, and Wes Metcalfe of unsigned music website Band Crusade, each band played for the chance to win an expenses-paid trip to Croatia’s INmusic Festival, where they will play alongside the likes of Foals, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Pixies, The Black Keys and many more.

The 5 finalists were: Scottish blues rockers The River 68’s; indie pop trio, Faitala; electronic rock act Stop Drop Robot; alternative rockers BÊTE; and classic rock band, The Black Hands.

Each band had just 20 minutes to impress the crowd and judges with their repertoire of songs.  While the judges deliberated their final decision, last year’s winners, Roger The Mascot, played a flawless set including their current World Cup single, Badboi.

After much deliberation Sheffield's Stop Drop Robot were crowned the overall winners, stealing the show with their infectious blend of futuristic rock and electro. The band will now go on to play at INmusic Festival in Croatia’s capital city, Zagreb, in June. Frontman Sam Christie was ecstatic with the outcome, saying "It's absolutely incredible to win such a prestigious competition. The standard of all the bands in the final was really high, so it was amazing when we heard our name read out. This is an unbelievable opportunity for us to show what we can do, and we can't wait to go out to Croatia and play at such a great festival".

All About The Music is an annual competition dedicated to promoting authentic music and giving unsigned musicians an established platform to get their music heard.
