Romania's hottest new festival Electric Castle

Electric Castle Festival is an electronic music festival, taking place at the end of June in Bánffy's Castle, Romania.













A relatively new kid on the block, having only been launched last year, Electric Castle Festival is already making a real name for itself as Romania's biggest electronic music festival. The beautiful grounds of the largest castle in Transylvania, provide a spectacular backdrop.

After its first edition in 2013, the festival was nominated by The European Festivals Awards for the Best New Festival and Best Medium Size Festival titles, being shortlisted among festivals such as Melt!, Balaton Sound, I Love Techno or Volt. For its second year, the festival is set to be bigger, stronger and better than ever - with four festival days, five stages and over 100 top artists from around the world.

The first edition of Electric Castle Festival took place in June last year and more than 32,000 people passed through the festival’s gates over those 3 days. The festivals 4 stages were crowded with over 90 artists including Morcheeba, Pendulum DJ Set, Feed Me, James Zabiela, Fritz Kalkbrenner, Dope DOD, Dub Pistols, Stanton Warriors, A Skillz, Krafty Kuts, Wankelmut and Telepopmusik Live.

The second edition of Electric Castle will take place 19–22 June 2014 with the motto “Bigger, Stronger, Better”.  The festival will be extended for 4 days and the number of stages will rise to 6. The line-up so far includes: Die Antwoord, Thievery Corporation,  Bonobo Live, Rusko, DJ Fresh, Gramatik, Chris Liebing, Sasha, Kraak & Smaak and Foreign Beggars.
