Feel the heat at Exit 2012

With only 4 weeks to go, the EXIT line up is hotting up with some of the final acts being revealed.

Exit Festival

Taking place from Thursday 12th – Sunday 15th July, in the magical Petrovaradin Fortress overlooking the river Danube, EXIT continues to deliver the most adventurous and value for money festival experience, with a diverse and cutting edge line up, cheap food and drink onsite and the best campsite entertainment whilst bathing in the hot Balkan sunshine. With over 600 artists, performing on 20 stages connected by cobbled streets, ramparts and tunnels - a walk through the mystical fortress is like a trip through a magical wonderland. With more entertainment, easier and cheaper travel options, unique location, stunning weather and an atmosphere unlike any other festival, EXIT offers a 4 day extravaganza costing much less than a UK festival ticket, giving the festival goer more value for money. 


FUSION STAGE:

The Fusion stage has been growing in popularity over the years with its eclectic range of acts from the most eminent names of Rock, Pop and Alternative domestic and regional scene, as well as many well-known foreign acts. Some of the newly announced acts include; Bosnian Rapper Edo Maakja, Polish Electro Pop trio Kamp!, Serbian cult band Block Out, Russian Indie Pop quartet Pompeya, Electro music in an Indie way with Twisted Piglet and Serbian band Hype! on Thursday.

Serbian Melodic Punk act Goblini, and the Rap supergroup SVE BARABE, the big regional phenomenon Lollobrigida to make all you Electro lovers shake shake shake, Belgrade Art/Alternative Rock band Jarboli, Industrial Crossover band dreDDup from Novi Sad and the big Romanian Alt Rock band Grimus!

Saturday EXIT welcomes Fela Kuti’s youngest son Seun Kuti together with his father’s well-known band, Egypt 80, who promise us a gig full of afro beats and an important social message weaved through his latest album ‘From Africa With Fury: Rise’, Novi Sad based Art band Obojeni program, the Rock’n’Roll icons Električni orgazam, and a great modern Serbian band from Bor, Goribor, whose music is a ”metaphysics of life, the state of consciousness, mind and sensefulness”. Death By Chocolate will perform on the same night as well as the most fascinating vocal of the new Serbian scene, Ivana Smolović, as a part of the new super-talented Indie act IKA. A perfect night will be complete with the performance of IN-THE-GO, heroes of the seaside Alternative Indie Rock from Split, Croatia.

The last day of the festival will now include the ten-piece New Zealand act Batucada Sound Machine with their mixture of Samba, Funk, Hip-hop and Soul who will play alongside icons of the former Yugoslavia’s bad boys – Split’s rappers Dječaci, and the Slovenian Dandelion Children, known for their specific genre which blends Punk, Funk, Country, Blues, Reggae and Progressive Rock. The domestic support comes from some of the most popular bands - Zemlja gruva, and the legendary Eyesburn.

SUBA STAGE:

The Suba Stage is another rising star of the EXIT festival program and this year, it’s all about collaboration and together with Dutch Magazine, DJ Broadcast, EXIT is bringing you the ultimate dance label on a nice Exit Friday - BOEMKLATSCH RECORDS, who will introduce themselves with the fantastic Equalizer show! The basis of this unique spectacle are sixteen 3-metre tall projection pillars, video-mapping the entire experience of the performing crew: Bart B More, Mike Mago, NAT 89, TWR72, Rip Tide, Pretty Young Trouble, Boemklatsch and Baskerville. Suba Friday will be one of the wildest parties of the forthcoming Exit!

Teaming up with the Russian Internet portal lookatme.ru, Exit presents the sound of the Russian underground on Saturday! First, we are welcoming Trud – the best new Russian indie forces. Followed by Elektra Monsterz, St. Petersburg’s new garage attraction. You have probably never witnessed rocking so hard and healthy, especially coming from Russia! Stoned Boys are youngsters combining multiple electronic influences to create a completely new genre, tagged by one reviewer as cosmo-dance. Ishome is a young producer and DJ from Krasnodar, unlimited when it comes to genres and Mark Schedrin and Leonid Lipelis are the sophisticated members of the group, from the mid-generation of Russian DJs. This is going to be one classy party!

Suba Stage is opened on Thursday by the best new Hungarian band – Volkova Sisters, the hottest Spanish electro attraction – The Zombie Kids and a special lo-fi lightshow made exclusively for them by the young Spanish artist Carlos Saez. Also on Thursday, we will be introduced to Belgrade’s KC Grad’s club night programme. Idemo na Mars is a theme night featuring domestic electronic music and It is also a popular radio show on Radio B92, promoting the hottest domestic electronic releases. Alongside Idemo na Mars, Suba will also host Banda Panda, a group of young people who have been organizing thematic parties in KC Grad for the past two years, which not only feature interesting musical line-up, but also interesting artistic performances.

On Sunday, will be performers from KC Grad, It’s A Dubstep Thing, The Middle Beast, a fresh act by the best Middle-Eastern DJ – Jade with oriental influences and electronic music. He will also be joined by his favourite VJ, TM. Playground Syndicate willclose this year’s Suba Stage, and are appearing as a result of the fresh Exit-Bestival twinning. Noah 'Rhythmtree' Priddle, Neil 'Beavz' Beaver and Tim 'AV Circus' Martin were discovered last year at a DJ competition organized by Bestival, after which they opened the famous Bollywood Stage at the festival. Bestival is sending this act to our Suba Stage, as a greeting to Exit and it will be a night to remember!
